A Pretty Pitcher ~

I wanted to share a pretty picture today of one of my favorite Aesthetic Movement transferware pieces.  This huge ewer has the sweetest image of a sparrow in flight at the front.  I keep this in my guest bath filled with silk roses and hydrangeas.

I've been using more and more white, and off white, colored flowers in my decorating and arrangements.  They brighten and lighten instantly, even if they are not real.

Someday I will fill this ewer with fresh flowers from the cutting garden.

And, someday I will have that cutting garden!

Happy weekend all~

  4. Que lindo esse jarro. Eu também estou usando branco por que minha casa é muito escura. O branco da uma luminosidade na casa.

  15. Hi Nancy: The ewer is beautiful and looks wonderful with either fresh or faux. Even if you have a cutting garden, sometimes a little faux is called for..Happy Friday..Judy

  16. I just realized that a plate I purchased over a year ago was from this period. It also had a bird on it and was in pretty sad shape but it was beautiful and so fragile. I think it was one dollar and if I can lay my hands on it, I should hang it on the wall, as I planned. Thanks for the lesson, your ewer is lovely and those flowers look real-I have some fake flowers that really fool the eye and I enjoy them very much, especially in the winter.
